Autumn 2024 photo shoot at the Stables

It was the change of season when we documented our 2024 Bridal Inspiration photoshoot at the Matakana Country Park. As the last of the Autumn leaves were falling we were just in time to capture its warmth and make the most of the local horses, stables, outside St Andrews Church and inside the iconic Stables Wedding and Events Venue.

If you are considering the Matakana Country Park for the location of your wedding or elopement, Amy Ryan Weddings can recommended some beautiful little spots for photos.

Firstly, whether you have a large or small or no bridal party there is a space onsite inside the Woolshed that can be rented for your getting ready zone for your hair and makeup artists and getting dressed. Its spacious and perfect for your bridal portraits and group shots prior to your first look or ceremony.

Our lads were suited at Warkworth Menswear and the gowns generously entrusted to us by Bridal and Ball.

For the ceremony, there are many beautiful pockets of gardens or under trees in the park but the two most popular locations are inside or in front of St Andrews Church or in the garden at The Stables or wet weather option inside the venue. The alter in the garden at The Stables Venue can be decorated however you like, just ask their dedicated Wedding Co-ordinator for more information.

Inside the The Stables venue it is warm and inviting. At our shoot the tables were decorated precisely and with such care and attention by Jane at The Revelry. Jane is so clever, we loved the colours she introduced and her artistic ideas to make each place setting unique. Jane loves to team her settings with Parched Garnishes and Pacific Linen.

The venue's rustic charm speaks for itself when it comes to your setting but if you wish to create an inviting back drop the team at Luxury Lane Events will absolutely create you something romantic to get married amongst and you simply cannot go past Annie O for her collection of bridal florals.

Ideas for photoshoot locations: When you are ready to take photos post-ceremony there are so many little spots on site to make use of. A little covered bridge beside Smiths, in front or outside in the grounds by St Andrews Church, in the gardens outside The Stables, if you love to be amongst nature take a quick drive or stroll over towards the driveway where the markets are often held. Under the beautiful trees or if you love a forest feel you can enquire to use the Redwood Forest.

You simply must have the iconic photo outside the front of The Stables barn doors, pretty day or night.
